About Me
PERSONAL LIFE
I grew up out west as the youngest of six kids. Being the youngest made me fiercely independent, and moving from place to place taught me how to talk to people and build relationships.
Humor has always been a big part of my life. I love a good pun, dad joke, or witty remark, but sarcastic banter is the fastest way into my good graces. I’m also a fan of learning new things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. That has led me many interesting places, including competing in the Blackfoot, ID Junior Miss Pageant, taking improv classes, and getting scuba certified.
The biggest leap from my comfort zone happened when I moved to New York City sight unseen. I’d never been here, but I knew the city was the place for me. What was supposed to be a one or two year stint has turned into a ten+ year journey. I start most mornings at Orangetheory Fitness, love trying new places to eat, go to Broadway shows as much as possible, and am a sucker for a spur of the moment adventure.
PROFESSIONAL LIFE
I wrote my first radio ad for a class project in second grade, and was 16 when I decided to pursue a career in marketing. While writing a timed essay in high school about my dream career, I started talking about going into marketing. It was a pretty persuasive essay because by the end of it I decided that was the career for me, and never looked back.
I got a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing communications, with minors in English and business management. I wanted to explore every aspect of the industry, and did so by working for agency, client, and media sides, and in creative and managerial roles. These experiences served me well when it came time to venture out on my own.
I still love learning new things and try to keep my finger on the pulse of trends. More than anything, I love connecting with smart people and gaining insights from their perspectives.
JUST FOR FUN
The problem with being in love with trying new things is that I don’t have a hobby…I have ALL the hobbies. I never worry about whether or not I’ll be good at something. If it sounds fun or interesting, count me in!
Recently I told a group of friends, “I summoned my inner crafter.” To this they responded, “Your inner crafter is more like an outer crafter,” and I’ve never felt more seen. I love creativity in all its forms, and I have the craft supply stash to prove it.
So if you need a homemade birthday card, cake, or gift, or want a pickle ball partner, adventure buddy, or anything in between—I’m your girl.
